During her short stay in Slovakia, Soňa Jahnová was already devoted to solo harp literature, chamber and orchestral music. Since 1988 she has lived in Germany. She cooperated with domestic flutists Milan Brunner and Miloš Jurkovič. Abroad her chamber partners are Jozef Jahn, vn, Bettina Thome, fl, Anette Pflug, s, and Elena Michailez-Spittler, vc. As a soloist she has performed with the Slovak Philharmonic and State Philharmonic Košice with conductors Oliver Dohnányi, Ondrej Lenárd, Kurt Rapf and Victor Fedotov. As soloist or with solo input she cooperated with groups or ensembles such as Köln Radio Orchestra, Deutsche Kammerakademie, Neues Ensemble Klassik Pro, Alphorn Trio, Chamber Orchestra Amberg, Chamber Soloists Duisburg, Gummersbach Symphony Orchestra, and Female Choir WDR Köln. She worked in the Opera of the Slovak National Theatre Bratislava (1986 – 1987), in orchestras Nürnberger Symphoniker (1988 – 1990), Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf (1992 – 1994) and Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Duisburg (1995 – 1996). She has recorded for Slovak Radio and Slovak Television. From 1985 – 1987 she taught harp at the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava. Currently, in addition to concert activities, she teaches privately in Germany in the region where she lives.
