In the research field she has focused on the older history of musical culture on the territory of Slovakia (16th -18th centuries). She has published many studies, monographs and source editions. She is the editor of the Musicologica Istropolitana collection.

She has engaged in pedagogical work at the Department of Aesthetics and Art Scholarship at the UK Philosophical Faculty (from 1981) and at the same Faculty’s Department of Musicology (from 1989), lecturing on musical historiography, musical palaeography, the older history of Slovak music in the medieval period, renaissance, baroque and classicism. Many of those whom she has trained have gained distinction and achieved remarkable results in the research of older music.
