The tradition of string quartet composition in Slovak music is long and rich. Yet it continues to thrive today, thanks in no small part to the interpretative work of ensembles, among which the Mucha Quartet holds a prominent place. Alongside the works of highly experienced composers in this genre, such as Iris Szeghy and Jevgenij Iršai, the program also offers an intriguing confrontation with pieces by Milan Paľa and Anton Jaro, both of whom are themselves active string players, as well as with quartet studies inspired by biology from the pen of Barbora Mišíková.
