My friend, Janko Slávik, who was the programme organiser of the Modra Little Festival where every year there was a Slovak composer invited as a guest (composer in residence), chose me as the composer in that year. At each of the concerts one of my compositions was heard. Janko Slávik was of the opinion that, at the concert of the Bratislava Guitar Quartet, there should also be something by me and, best of all, something for four guitars. I admit I am a little inexperienced in this field; at the time of my studies at the Bratislava Conservatory and the Academy of Music and Drama the guitar was not taught and I didn’t know guitar skills very well either. But I knew the sound of a guitar quartet from the Los Romeros recordings so I got on with it; finally the work was truly a real pleasure. The concert took place in the courtyard of winery and was not just a musical but an ornithological sensation. Nothing before and nothing after, but during my sonata a few dozen blackbirds assembled who wanted to take part also. Something amazing!

\n (author, in: booklet of the CD \"Slovak Music for Guitar Quartet\", Diskant DK 0133-2 131, p. 3.)
\n
\n
\n            Movements:
\n\n                Allegro\n                \n
\n\n                Aria, Largo\n                \n
\n\n                Allegro scherzando\n                \n
\n\n                Vivo\n                \n
\n
\n\n

\n
First performance in Slovakia
\n                \n                \n                19.06.2004,\n                Music for Modra,\n                SK\n\n
Performers: Bratislava Guitar Quartet\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n"}
