As the title suggests, Bachratá seeks here to confront various stylistic concepts and to find a personal voice, after she had been introduced to new techniques of composition. The quiet solo lines of the clarinet and cello draw on Ontogenesis, and the threepart canon points to a tendency to integrate new and traditional expression. The piece is a further example of Bachratá´s characteristic balladic style. Confrontations were performed at a concert within the Music without Frontiers in the Heart of Europe project in Vienna, in 2000.

\n (Vladimír Bokes, in: booklet of the CD \"Aberrationes\", Ekolio 2001, p. 10–11.)
\n
\n        \n\n        \n
\n"}
