Its author’s development is rather interesting – from seeking for different possibilities of the compositional expression, through selection, to syntheses of his own creative accomplishments. Zeljenka has composed a great number of pieces, many of them representing lasting values in Slovac music. The core of Musica slovaca is its central theme from which the whole composition evolves. The work profits from the Slovak inspirational sources and affinity to folk tunes. Though short, the piece shows warious rhythmical and melodical passages in which the perfomrers can prove their skill of rendition. In 1986, Musica slovaca was re-written for a version for string quartet by the author himself.

\n (Marta Földešová, in: booklet of the CD \"Musica slovaca\", HF 1992)
\n
\n        \n\n        \n
\n"}
