{"content":"\n
\n        \n        About work:
The piano composition Do, La, C(s)i, Fa (Whispers and Cries) is dedicated to pianist Ladislav Fanzowitz. The title but also the main theme is on one side derived from the initials of his name (pet name La-ci Fanzowitz) and also from the ambiguity of the syllable do (the first note in the musical scale according to the sol-fa system representing the tone C) as a musical basis and the preposition with the meaning into. The subtitle refers to the immensely powerful film Whispers and Cries by Ingmar Bergman from 1972 picturing the personal drama of four women and the compexity of their relationships. In a sense, this Irshai’s ten-minute composition is a musical drama in which the dramatic passagers (cries) alter with the calm movement of the individual tones (whispers) while the most dramatic passage, bringing the new musical material lies in the middle of the compositions.

\n (Zuzana Martináková, in: booklet of the CD \"evgeny irshai – schoenberg variations\", Pavlík records PA 0091-2-131, p. 3–4.)
\n
\n        \n\n
\n                \n
First performance abroad
\n                \n                28.11.2008,\n                AT\n\n
Performers: Jevgenij Iršai (pf)\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n"}
