Prophecies for alto flute, speaker and children´s chorus on the Kahlil Gibran´s text have been written on commission of Janka Rychlá – for the Children´s and Youth Choir of the Slovak Radio. The book Prophet by Kahlil Gibran is one of the strongest and deepest books I have read. Since the very beginning I was fascinated by a tremendous concentration of thoughts and unique poetics of their presentation. By my composition I wanted to mediate at least a fraction of this treasure to people who have not had the opportunity to know Gibran´s ideas, and also to pay homage to the maestro – sucha s the author of The Prophet has been and always will be for me and for many others.
