The Music Centre cooperates with Slovak Institutes abroad in diffusing and propagating Slovak musical culture. This is a logical partnership, which has proved successful in organising concert events in the Institutes’ setting.
The dramaturgic aim in these concerts is to present Slovak performance art, having regard to the specificities of the countries where the Slovak Institutes operate. Apart from standard concerts of serious music, principally of the chamber type, we also realise musical programmes for shows of other types of art, for example visual art exhibitions, audiovisual shows, composed programmes of a literary-musical character, and other projects.
We collaborate regularly with SI in the following states: Czech Republic (Prague), Austria (Vienna), Hungary (Budapest), Poland (Warsaw), Italy (Rome), France (Paris), Germany (Berlin) and Russia (Moscow).
In the event of further institutes being opened, collaboration will be developed with the following countries also: Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Great Britain...
The mode of presentation of programmes respects the character of those which reflect major events and anniversaries of the country, state festivals, anniversaries of historic figures and artists...
Visitors to events held at the Slovak Institutes abroad are members of the diplomatic corps, prominent guests from all walks of life and Slovak minorities, and also the broad music-loving public.
