Festival Allegretto Žilina is an international music festival of performing art held annually in Žilina. It ranks among the most significant music events in Slovakia and in the Central European region. With its rich tradition, the festival provides a concert platform for young laureates of prestigious international music competitions.

The jubilee 35th edition of Festival Allegretto Žilina will take place from 20 to 25 April 2026 at the Dom umenia Fatra. During six festival days, 11 performers from seven countries will appear – Lithuania, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Japan, Serbia, and the United States of America.

Slovakia will be represented by two outstanding young artists – violinist Teo Gertler and pianist Pavol Bohdan Zápotočný. The programme will also include a concert featuring laureates of this year’s Slovak conservatory competitions, traditionally held in early spring.

The festival will feature performances by the Slovenská filharmónia, the Janáčkova filharmónie Ostrava, and the Štátny komorný orchester Žilina.

“Thirty-five years of Festival Allegretto Žilina confirm its significant position on the map of European music events. Our long-term goal is to create space for exceptional young talents and connect them with renowned orchestras. We believe that this anniversary edition will once again bring powerful artistic experiences to audiences,” said Igor Valentovič, Director of the Hudobné centrum.
