“Edita Gruberová, adorned by attributes “Queen of coloratura” and “Diva divissima” is a phenomenon of the opera world. Vocal art is for a her lifelong mission and internal fulfillment. She can name very convincingly and specifically her artistic principles and goals she unswervingly holds. She does not need to embellish: Everything she wants to express she inserts in her opera characters and vocal recitals.

She introduced herself on all the world's major opera stages (Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Metropolitan Opear in New York, opera houses in Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Paris, Zurich, Naples, Florence, Madrid, Barcelona, Tokyo and others). Among her most outstanding opera roles are Zerbinetta, Lucia di Lammermoor, Konstanze, Gilda, Rosina, or Norma. In recent years, she fascinates her audience by interpretation of Donizetti's three Tudor queens – Ann Boleyn, Mary Stuart and Elizabeth I from the opera Roberto Devereux.

She received numerous awards, e.g. Herbert von Karajan Musikpreis, Sir Lawrence Olivier Award, Bellini d'Oro, Franco Abbiati Price and others, she holds the title of Austrian and Bavarian “Kammersängerin”, and many other honors.

She has performed with the world's leading conductors and orchestras. She recorded for Nightingale Classics, EMI, Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Teldec and Philips. In addition to operas she also performs song, especially of German authors. In 2018 she will celebrate the unbelievable 50th anniversary of her incredible career."
