contemporary music ensemble

Bio

Bio

Trio Neue Musik is specialized in performing contemporary music and music of the 20th century with an accent on living authors, who often write their work to the order of members of the ensemble. The guarantee of professionalism and quality of interpretation come particularly from the input of rich experiences of the members of the trio in the field of solo and chamber music. Trio Neue Musik realized its first separate project in 2006. The project BRIDGE was focused on performing works of Slovak and Portugese authors. It was held in Slovakia (Bratislava, Slovak Radio; Nitra, Nitra Gallery) and in Portugal (Aveiro, Festivais Outono 2006). In addition to concerts, the project invited composers from both countries, who could present themselves at seminars and ensured their personal attendance in concerts.

Trio Neue Musik actively cooperates with the conductor Marián Lejava, but also with invited guests such as Enikő Ginzery – cimbalom, Ronald Šebesta – clarinet, Zuzana Rašiová – soprano and others. Cooperation with these (and other) artists created an opportunity for the founding of the chamber ensemble Neue Musik Bratislava, which debuted in 2003 on the occasion of the project Musik für Ravensbrück in Germany. The ensemble premiered the composition “Dych” by Jana Kmiťová. The ensemble introduced itself in 2003 at the significant festival of contemporary music Ostrava Days, where it presented works by Slovak composers. After a successful concert the ensemble was invited to the next edition of the festival Ostrava Days 2005, where it performed in a concert program of Slovak contemporary composers (Kmiťová, Lejava, Bokes) and foreign authors (Saunders, Scelsi). The ensemble released a CD in December 2003 with the music from the project Musik für Ravensbrück.

In 2017 the Trio Neue Musik Bratislava was invited to participate in a project of the University in Aveiro (Portugal) – Composition/Presentation/Recordings of New Music. Members of the trio successfully premiered the composition Mystic Garden for trio and electronics by Slovak composer Petra Oliveira Bachratá, as evidenced by the recording released in Portugal in spring 2007 (Námerica Editora Discografica).
