The Spectre's Bride, Op. 69



Svatební košile (Wedding Shirt) is a cantata by Antonín Dvořák for soloists, choir and orchestra, Op. 69 from 1884, based on the motifs of the ballad of the same name from Karel Jaromír Erben's famous collection Kytice (Bouquets) from 1853. It will be performed in Žilina for the first time as a special artistic event of the season. Chief Conductor of the Slovak Sinfonietta F. Macek has invited a trio of excellent soloists - well-known to the Žilina audience soprano Maria Porubčinová, Czech tenor Ales Briscein and Slovak baritone - soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague Pavel Kubáň. The experience will be enhanced by the participation of the Slovak Philharmonic Choir.
