Concentrated Voices presents the latest developments in contemporary composed music for six strings and electronics. In this international project by guitarist and curator Ondrej Veselý, the guitar becomes a compositional filter: a single instrument passes through the hands of composers from three generations, each bringing their own musical language and vision of sound. Many of them are writing for the guitar for the first time. The concert will present a range of compositional approaches, from solo acoustic guitar to combinations of guitar and electronics. The programme includes works by Bernhard Lang, Klaus Lang, Alvin Curran, Liisa Hirsch, Snežana Nešić, Idin Samimi Mofakham, Marc Sabat and others.
The concert will also feature world premieres: Marco Baldini's Sonatina and works by Adam Holáš, Pavol Béreš and Juraj Gažmerčík, the winners of the Call for Scores - Slovak Section, supported by the Tatra banka Foundation. The creation of the works by Liisa Hirsch, Snežana Nešić and Idin Samimi Mofakham was supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
? The concert consists of two parts, each lasting approximately one hour. A single ticket grants admission to the entire evening or to either part individually.
