Peter Javorka
Slovak composer and pianist. Studied composition at the Žilina Conservatory and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (Evgeny Irshai) and is currently studying at the Academy of Music in Krakow (Wojciech Widłak). He has also complemented his education at master courses for composers and percussionists in Trstěnicie and at the Ostrava Days in 2013. Javorka is active also as a performer, focusing on contemporary world and Slovak production. In Žilina in 2013 he performed the first of a series of piano recitals of Slovak music and also presented the premiere of Peter Machajdík’s Immanent Velvet. In 2012 he received second prize at the international composers’ competition Generations for his Trio for Violin, Cello and Piano.
