Želislava Sojak Subotić

Serbian-Slovak composer. In 2013 she completed her Masters Degree in composition at the HTF of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava with Blue Fairy Tales for chamber orchestra. This work was premiered at the New Slovak Music Festival in 2014. She has participated in several international festivals and workshops, where her own work also was heard, among them Haydn, the Progressive in Eisenstadt and contemporary music festivals including aXes – The New Music Triduum, Orpheus, Resonances, Review of Young Composers – Soozvuk, Ars Nova Cassoviae etc. In collaboration with the Serbian pianist Maria Ligeti Balint she has contributed to a published collection of piano compositions Pančevačka klavirska muzika, which contains piano works of hers also. In 2012 she won first prize for her composition In caelo eloqui tui, sun nec occidere for two cellos at the Donne in musica international competition in Kragujevac in Serbia.
