Ján Boleslav Kladivo

Slovak composer. Own name Richard Sabo. After his studies at the Technical University in Bratislava he worked at the Experimental Studio in Slovak Radio. He is well-known especially as a songwriter, and he also composes contemporary electroacoustic music. In 2006 he collaborated with Július Fujak on the Fluff Modulation project. For his album Rozhľadňa (Observatory, 2008), he received a Radio_Head Awards prize in the category Album of the Year – Critics’ Prize. He is also the author of the composition called Mariena, which the Noisecut ensemble has popularised in recent years in a version of its own. The KK Bagala publishing house issued a book of Kladivo’s song texts in their Literárny pluk edition, entitled Nahá (Naked). The book maps the period 1992–2012. In 2015 his twelfth electronic album so far appeared, called Venia.
