Dominik Kopcsay

Slovak composer. While studying at Grammar School for talented children, he also studied violin at Hálkova School of Art in Bratislava (1st stage). Since his 10, he has been composing his own pieces, mainly electronic music. Nowadays he is a lead vocal and composer in solo electronic project Nightlines releasing his first album Protisvit this September. Since 2013 he has been studying composition under Marián Lejava at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, currently being in senior year of Master’s studies. His compositions include Cadenza per violino solo winning Generace 2015’s 2nd prize in the category ‘under 21’, String Quartet No. 1, Mana for clarinet trio, Individuation for chamber orchestra or Universum in Milanolo being a part of Milanolo album (2017) by Milan Paľa. This composition won Generace 2017’s 2nd prize in the category ‘under 30’. His further interests include psychology, philosophy and astronomy that inspire him in his composition.
