Dramaturgically attractive programme of the concert will open with the sparkling "Simple Symphony" by the English composer Benjamin Britten. From the Slovak works, the young musicians will perform Four Pieces for Strings by Petr Zagar. The charming Suite by Leoš Janáček at the end of the concert will also symbolically remind us of the ending Year of Czech Music.
The artistic director of the National Youth Orchestra of Slovakia will be Igor Karško, renowned Slovak violinist and pedagogue, professor of the University of Music in Lucerne (Switzerland), who - together with Matúš Veľas, 1st oboist of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra - will also be featured as a soloist in Johann Sebastian Bach’s Double Concerto.
