Allegretto Žilina International Music Festival is one of Slovakia’s long-standing classical music festivals. In 2026, it will present its 35th edition, continuing its mission to support outstanding young performers and to connect them with renowned orchestras, conductors and established artists in an international context.

The festival opening features the State Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christopher Važan, with violinist Teo Gertler, performing works by a Slovak composer, Mozart and Mendelssohn. The programme also includes a chamber concert, the Concert of Prize-winners of Slovak Conservatories, and an orchestral evening with the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, dedicated to 20th-century music.

Further highlights include a piano recital by Pavol Bohdan Zápotočný and the closing concert with the Slovak Philharmonic, conducted by Daniel Raiskin, featuring violinist Sueye Park and cellist Yuya Mizuno, with works by Franz Schmidt and Johannes Brahms.

The festival is complemented by educational activities and masterclasses, fostering artistic development and the exchange of experience between generations.
