Dmytro Udovychenko (1999)

Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Dmytro Udovychenko is an internationally acclaimed violinist and the First Prize winner of the 2024 Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition. Udovychenko’s remarkable career is marked by numerous prestigious accolades. In 2023, he secured First Prize at the Montréal International Competition, following a string of successes in 2022, including First Prize at the III Singapore International Competition and Third Prize at the XII Jean Sibelius International Violin Competition. Earlier achievements include First Prize at the II Odesa International Violin Competition in 2021, and a trio of honors at the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition, where he received Second Prize, the Audience Prize, and the Internet Community Prize. In 2018, Dmytro claimed the Grand Prix at the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition, having previously earned Second Prize and the EMCY Prize at the 2017 Jascha Heifetz International Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania. Dmytro began his musical journey at the Kharkiv Special Music School for Gifted Children under Ludmila Varenina, earning numerous international awards and festival invitations during his early years. At the age of 14, he continued his studies with Professor Boris Garlitsky at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany. In 2022, he joined Christian Tetzlaff’s class at the Kronberg Academy. Additionally, he has refined his skills in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Ana Chumachenco, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Gary Hoffman, Gidon Kremer, Sir András Schiff, Stephan Picard, and Leonidas Kavakos.
