The closing concert of the Melos-Ethos festival was organised in collaboration with the French association Forum Voix Étouffées, whose mission is to showcase the music of composers who suffered under the totalitarian regimes of the 20th and 21st centuries. The concert will therefore open with the Overture for Small Orchestra by the Czech composer of German-Jewish origin, Hans Krása, who perished in Auschwitz. The fate of an emigrant from the Eastern Bloc also befell the Ukrainian composer Valentin Bibik, whose work will be represented by the meditative piece *Dedication* for string orchestra and organ, as well as our own Peter Kolman. A revised version of his Violin Concerto will receive its world premiere, performed by the phenomenal Milan Paľa. Audiences can also look forward to a new orchestral work by the outstanding Slovak composer Jana Kmiťová, *TexTy V*, and a sombre yet exceptionally focused orchestral essay by the living legend of French music, Pascal Dusapin.
