The 18th edition of the Melos-Étos International Festival will be opened by the established Austrian ensemble, the Platypus Ensemble. The programme for the evening is built on the principle of contrast – ranging from the most intimate and delicate soundscapes to wildness, restlessness and expressive ferocity. In the programme, this principle is reflected in the music of Yann Robin and Bernhard Gander, in the fantastical world of Olga Neuwirth, and in the delicate and fragile soundscapes of Kaija Saariaho and Carola Bauckholt. Béla Bartók and György Kurtág, who celebrated the centenary of his birth in 2026, also present markedly contrasting musical styles. The evening’s programme will be rounded off by a work by the young Slovak composer Marek Fóra.
Tickets are available in advance via the Ticketportal network: https://www.ticketportal.sk/event/Melos-Etos-2026
or one hour before the concert at the venue.
