CONCENTRATED VOICES is a project by guitarist and curator Ondrej Veselý, in which the guitar becomes a compositional filter. Composers from different generations and with varying aesthetics, each with their own distinctive musical language, are writing for it for the first time. The possibilities and limitations of the six strings compel them to seek new forms of self-expression. Works are being created for solo guitar and guitar with electronics. Each composer is seeking their own way to speak through this instrument. The project demonstrates how different compositional voices can sound when they pass through the same filter.
The creation of the compositions by Liisa Hirsch, Idina Samimi Mofakhama and Snežana Nešić was supported by the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung.
