With his debut album Sólo, he was the first on the Slovak music scene to embrace the tradition of archaic delta blues. In 2006, he became the first Slovak musician to record blues in Memphis. Together with Czech singer Matěj Ptaszek, he formed the duo Beňa & Ptaszek, which received the 'Discovery of the Year' award from the Hohner company and performed at the World Harmonica Festival in Trossingen, Germany. Beňa is also the founder of the 'Hudba v Meste' (Music in the City) project in Skalica, which supports concerts and performances by blues artists.
