His research is dedicated to the field of ethnomusicology, ethnoorganology, Slovak folk instruments and instrumental ensemble music, Slovak folk music in the context of Central Europe, and transformations of traditional music in Slovakia.
He is a member of scientific societies and unions, such as: Study Group on Folk Musical Instruments – International Council of Traditional Music UNESCO, Slovak National Committee International of Council for Traditional Music UNESCO, and deputy of the Association of Slovak Folk Music at the Slovak Music Union.
He took foreign study trips and lectures in Hungary, USA, Austria, Poland and Norway. He realized specialized radio and TV shows at home and abroad and led creative music workshops abroad.
