Peter Spišský is a Slovak violinist living and working abroad (Sweden, Denmark). He focuses primarily on the interpretation of early music. He was a member of the early music ensemble Musica Aeterna and regularly collaborates with the ensemble Solamente naturali.
Spišský is the concertmaster of the leading European early music ensemble Concerto Copenhagen, with which he has given numerous concerts and made many recordings of early music in artistic collaboration with renowned conductors such as Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Paul Hillier, Andrew Lawrence-King, and Alfredo Bernardini. He is also a member of The Baroque Fever Ensemble and a co-founder of Camerata Øresund, bringing together young performers from Scandinavia. He regularly collaborates with ensembles including Barokkanerne (Oslo), Camerata Darammatica (Reykjavík), Festspiel Orchester Göttingen, and the Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra, among others.
He is also active as a pedagogue at the Musikhögskolan in Malmö and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, and he leads masterclasses throughout Scandinavia. In 2018, as part of the Early Music Days festival, he conducted creative workshops for primary art schools in Bratislava.
