Petra Torkošová is a Slovak conductor, choirmaster, and educator.

She founded and directed the children's choir Gorazdík and has also collaborated with the Cantus Choir, the Cuore Barroco Orchestra (2011), and conductor Jack Martin Händler (2013). At the Orfeus Festival of Contemporary Music (2013), she conducted the world premieres of works by young Slovak composers. She has also participated in numerous international projects in Luxembourg, Italy, Hungary, Hamburg, and Israel.

Since 2013, she has served as the conductor of the Technik STU Choir, leading the ensemble to numerous awards at national and international competitions. To mark the choir's 60th anniversary season, she conducted a performance of Johannes Brahms's A German Requiem.

As a choirmaster, she has also contributed to the theatre productions Tiso at the Aréna Theatre and The Life of Galileo at the Slovak National Theatre. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with several other choirs, including Cantus, Voci Allegre, Lúčnica, Ad Una Corda, and the Slovak Teachers' Choir.

Currently, she is a lecturer in choral conducting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), where she is also actively involved in a range of educational initiatives. She founded the women's academic choir Solfeggio and, together with her students, produces the podcast Music from a Different Perspective, featuring distinguished figures from the music world, including conductor Marián Valentovič, composer Ľubica Čekovská, sound engineer Marek Grečnár, singer Peter Lipa, and many others. Under her leadership, the Academy hosts annual international conducting masterclasses in collaboration with the German conductor Rolf Beck.

Since April 2026, Petra Torkošová has served as Choirmaster of the Slovak Philharmonic Choir.
