Matúš Jakabčic is a Slovak jazz guitarist, composer, arranger, and educator who has been a significant figure in the Slovak jazz scene since the 1980s. He has performed and collaborated with numerous Slovak and international big bands and is the founder of several jazz ensembles. With his ensemble Matúš Jakabčic CZ-SK Big Band, he performs at festivals both at home and abroad, and records original compositions as well as arrangements of jazz standards. In addition to his work as a performer, he is also active as a composer and arranger for both small ensembles and large orchestras. An important part of his career is dedicated to teaching and organizational activities in the field of music.
