Štefan Fajnor was a Slovak composer and lawyer. He was a promoter of Smetana’s work and maintained close ties with Czech music and culture. His musical style was influenced by the works of Bedřich Smetana, Zdeněk Fibich, Franz Liszt, and Fryderyk Chopin. He collected and harmonized folk songs, composed piano and choral pieces, and occasionally performed in concerts.

Fajnor set music to the texts of Slovak and Czech poets. His compositions were published in the collection of Slovak male choruses compiled by Miloš Ruppeldt and in the anthology From the Šumava to the Tatras by Karol Salva and Karel Kálal. In addition to his musical work, he was also an active promoter of Slovak folk culture.
