Vlado Franc is a Slovak radio music editor and presenter.
He studied opera singing at the Conservatory in Bratislava and, while still a student, worked part-time at the then Czechoslovak Radio, where he selected music for several programmes. His first permanent position at the institution was as a producer of musical ensembles. He later joined the Youth Editorial Department as a music editor and went on to become a long-standing member of Slovak Radio. He worked as a music editor on several programmes, including Nočné dialógy, Dobré ráno, Slovensko and Pozor, zákruta.
Initially, he did not plan to become involved in writing and presenting programmes, but he gradually began creating programmes himself and became their voice. Among his best-known programmes are Hudobné spomienky and Túto hudbu mám rád, which he has been producing since 2000. The first episode was broadcast on 8 January 2000, with Peter Dvorský as the guest. In June 2012, the programme reached its 500th original episode, with Richard Müller as the guest. On 25 October 2025, Vlado Franc presented its 1,000th episode, featuring Marika Gombitová as the guest. Other notable guests have included Jozef Ráž, Miroslav Žbirka, Zdeněk Svěrák, Karel Gott, Ladislav Chudík, Hana Hegerová and Hana Zagorová, as well as other prominent figures from outside the music industry.
In 2007, the book Túto hudbu mám rád was published, featuring 15 interviews broadcast as part of the programme.
For his entertainment, educational and public outreach work, he has received several awards. Most recently, in September 2026, the Slovak Music Fund awarded him the Gejza Dusík Prize for his authorship and presentation of more than 1,000 broadcast episodes of the successful programme Túto hudbu mám rád.
