Etela Čárska is a Slovak musicologist, music critic and publicist and a long-time editor of the Slovak Radio. She has focused on early music and organ music as well as contemporary music, especially the works of Slovak composers.
In her journalistic activities she mainly reflected on organ events such as the Slovak Historical Organ, Organ Concerts under the Pyramid, Days of Organ Music in Bratislava and others, as well as concert artists (Ferdinand Klinda, Ivan Sokol, Irma Skuhrová, Eva Kamrlová, Ján Vladimír Michalko and others), in the field of early music, it mainly reflected ensembles such as the Slovak Chamber Orchestra with Bohdan Warchal as artistic director, Musica aeterna, Bratislava with Ján Albrecht as artistic director. Her interest in the work of the Experimental Studio of the Slovak Radio as well as the work of Slovak composers such as Alexander Moyzes, Jozef Malovec, Ivan Hrušovský is not insignificant.
For her creative approach in radio work she has received several awards: the Prix Musical de Radio Brno 1978, the Prix Italia in Ravenna 1998 and the Prix Italia in Assisi 1999.
