Nogaband is a musical ensemble dedicated to the interpretation of Slovak folk music. Their distinctive feature is the revival of old traditional playing styles. The group’s leader and first violinist is Michal Noga, a trained ethnomusicologist who is also active as a lecturer and organizer of various music workshops.
In 2020, the band released its debut album Stopy, which received the Radio_Head Awards award for Recording of the Year in the World Music/Folk category. With this recording, they became the first Slovak group to enter the global Transglobal World Music Chart rankings, reaching 22nd place. Stopy also repeatedly achieved leading positions in the World Music Charts Europe rankings.
Together with Spectrum Quartett and the female vocal ensemble Ulijanky, they collaborated on the project Obrázky zo Slovenska (Pictures from Slovakia), which was released on CD in 2026. Prior to the release, they performed the project at events and festivals including Grand Prix Svetozára Stračinu (2023), FOLK EXPO Slovakia (2023), Východná (2024), Pohoda (2024), and Viva Musica! (2025).
