Apollo Choir was established in 1995 as university choir, where students from all over Slovakia studying in Bratislava can sing. It focuses on contemporary sacred Slovak music (among others it performed the extensive sacred compositions by Pavol Krška – Stabat Mater, Requiem, Te Deum, Missa Solemnis), but part of their repertoire is also sacred choir music from the period of Gregorian chant, Renaissance, Romanticism and present. It regularly performs at home and abroad. It is co-organizer of the festivals of choir music in Bratislava. The choirmaster and the artistic director is Milan Kolena.
In 2015 the choir attended 13th edition of the International Festival Singing World 2015 in Russian St. Petersburg, where among 50 participating choirs it received four first places (in categories – mixed choirs, sacred music, contemporary choir music and folk music), as well as a special prize for the best interpretation of Renaissance choral composition.
