Ondrej Veselý - guitar

Slovak guitarist. He studied under Martin Krajčo, Jozef Zsapka, Peter Remeník, Adam Marec and Lukáš Borzík. In the academic year 2012 – 2013 he studied at the prestigious Conservatorium Maastricht under the direction of Carlo Marchioni. Besides, he received further training from Giampaolo Bendini (Italy). His musical expression is distinguished by emphasis on natural musicality, based on an understanding of the specific nature and rhetoric of the musical text of the works he is performing. His performance focus is particularly associated with Slovak musical culture and composers such as Joseph Kolkovich, Iris Szeghy, Marián Budoš, Viera Janárčeková, Víťazoslav Kubička, Peter Machajdík, Július Fujak etc., with whom he has collaborated personally on a variety of projects. His performance activity has culminated in further direct collaboration with composers from Belgium, Italy, Brazil, Sweden, USA and Australia, many of whom have dedicated their works to him. He has been having a long-term collaboration with the Brazilian-American composer Clarice Assad. He has been recently interested in post gradual studies in musical aesthetics and semiotics under Július Fujak at the Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
