Ferdinand Slezák - Sunday Matinees // 4.11.2018
The young talented violinist Ferdinand Slezák will perform at the Mirbach Palace on Sunday, November 10, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Ferdinand started playing violin at the age of 6. Later, he was admitted to an extraordinary study at the Bratislava Conservatory where he became a pupil of Dalibor Karvay. From 2016 he is currently studying at the Conservatory in Bratislava under the istruction of Juraj Tomka and at the same time at the University of Music and Performing Arts Wien in the class of Stefan Kamilarov.
At the age of 10, Ferdinand performed with the Metropolitan Orchestra Bratislava. In 2014 he performed at the Stradivari Concert organized by the Italian Culture Institute, where he played together with the Sinfonietta Bratislava chamber orchestra. As a 14-year-old he performed a solo violin recital in Slovak Radio. In January 2018 he performed with the Slovak Chamber Orchestra at the Slovak Philharmony at the concert Talent in music.
Among his most important achievements is the win of the Slovak contest Schneider Trnava where he won three times 1st place, the award for interpretation and twice he became a laureate. Similarly, at the international competition of Julius von Beliczay in Komárno (two times 1st place, laureate). At the Pressburg Paganini he won 1st place and was the category winner. In 2017 he represented Slovakia at the international competition Talents for Europe, where he won 2nd place and also the international violin competition in Bulgary, where he also won 2nd place. At The International Arthur Grumiaux Competition for Young Violinists 2018 in Brussels he wan 3rd place. The Mayor of Bratislava awarded him for representing the city.
