"One must draw again and again from a single source: Johann Sebastian Bach." These words come from composer Robert Schumann, one of the first in the 19th century to recognize the poetic quality in the works of the German Baroque master — and they still hold true today. At the Days of Early Music festival, Bach's flute sonatas and solo harpsichord works will be performed by renowned specialist in historically informed performance Ewald Demeyere and Czech baroque transverse flute player Radka Kubínová. The Belgian artist, who is also active as a musicologist, will additionally lead masterclasses on 18th-century keyboard music as part of the festival on June 14 and 15.
