Miloš Valent -

Slovak violinist. He is a graduate of Žilina Conservatory, where he studied violin playing with Bohumil Urban. He continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of Bohdan Warchal. His interest in old music led to him finding his first professional position with the Musica aeterna ensemble. He extended his knowledge also by taking positions in old music ensembles abroad. From 1993 he collaborated regularly with the Tragicomedia ensemble and from 1997 he was concert master of the Teatro Lírico orchestra. Valent has performed in various groupings abroad; he has been concert master in the Bremen ensemble Fiori Musicali; he has collaborated with the London-based Tirami Su, De Nederlandse Bachvereniging Utrecht, Musicalische Compagney Berlin, and with the Prague ensembles Musica Florea and Ritorenello. He has been a teacher at the Musikhögskolan in Malmö, Conservatoire de Musique in Geneva, Hochschule für Kunst in Bremen and at the Týnska School in Prague. In 1995 he founded his own chamber ensemble Solamente naturali, where he has been artistic leader to the present day.
