Complete Works, E:I, 4, Missa in b

Ján Levoslav Bella created his two crowning vocal-orchestral Mass compositions, Mass in B flat Minor (Missa in b) and Mass in E flat Major (Missa in Es) at the close of his period of engagement in Kremnica. The importance of both works is highlighted by the fact that their original premieres were held during the 1880s in Vienna. The Missa in b was performed in Vienna and Bratislava during the composer’s life; subsequently interest in it revived only in the 1990s.
