Etudes for Guitar (selection)
back to list
Fernando Sor (1778–1838) is regarded as the pioneer of guitar music, some even call him the “Beethoven of the guitar”. While the guitar pieces of his contemporaries Dionisio Aguado and Fernando Carulli maintain strong ties with their didactic character, Sor’s etudes stand as independent compositions that manifest the composer’s exceptional melodic invention. Edited by Pavol Malovec.
