Piano Pieces I.

The Slovak pianist, organist, chamber musician, composer, and teacher devoted a significant part of his creative output to children, choirs, and folk ensembles. Much of this music was inspired by Slovak and Hungarian folk songs. This volume brings together three collections: The Little Beginner, 14 Short Pieces for Piano (1952); Three Pieces for Piano (1958); and For Young People, 20 Slovak Folk Songs for Piano (1950). The album provides an excellent source of introductory repertoire for young pianists, with pieces inspired by Slovak folk music.
