Slovak–French edition.

The publication aims to map the places, personalities, ensembles and events in Bratislava, often referred to as the “City of Music”, that are connected with classical music as well as other musical genres.

The chapters Musical Walks and The Final Resting Places of Musicians take readers back into the city's past, inviting them to follow in the footsteps of both renowned and lesser-known musicians who lived and worked in Bratislava, enriching its musical life, or who visited the city briefly yet left a lasting mark through their presence. The past meets the present in the chapter Bratislava’s Concert Venues, where concert halls, palaces, galleries, churches and theatres, all steeped in the echoes of music from earlier times, continue to welcome audiences to experience the city's vibrant musical life today. The chapter Orchestras, Ensembles and Choirs introduces twenty selected musical groups, providing a brief overview of their history and current activities. The publication also explores Bratislava’s contemporary music scene, including festivals, concert series, music clubs, sheet music shops and other music-related institutions.

Authors Zuzana Godárová and Ján Vyhnánek, both experienced Bratislava tour guides specializing in the city's musical heritage, share their knowledge with local residents and visitors alike.

The Slovak–French edition of the publication was published with financial support from the Ars Bratislavensis Cultural Grant Programme of the Capital City of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava.
