Missa brevis (for solo voices)

This work is one of the principal compositions from Bella’s first creative period, written while he was still living and working in his homeland. The liturgical text is scored for male voices within a range from C to E-flat1, making it suitable for all male voice types.

The scoring suggests that Bella intended the work to be performed either as a unison chant for male voices with organ accompaniment or by a solo voice supported by a strict four-part organ accompaniment.
