Complete works B:3, Concert Overture in E-flat Major for Orchestra

Hudobné centrum continues its edition of the works of Ján Levoslav Bella with the Concert Overture in E-flat major, composed in 1876, the composer’s third orchestral work from his Kremnica period. After the Second World War, it became perhaps the most frequently performed Slovak orchestral composition, largely thanks to Václav Talich, who conducted it on several occasions, albeit in his own orchestral arrangement. The present edition has been prepared from the original orchestral parts and therefore presents a musical text that comes as close as possible to Bella’s original compositional intentions.
