Music for Flute, Clarinet and Piano

Apart from a few youthful rarities, Jozef Sixta composed neither stage, theatre, nor film music, nor did he produce folk-song arrangements or popular music. He likewise rejected polystylism, neo-styles, postmodernism, and electronic or electroacoustic composition. Yet the use of pre-existing musical material—a practice he had consciously avoided throughout his life—ultimately came to fascinate him to such an extent that his last completed work was a pasticcio, or quodlibet, entitled Music for Flute, Clarinet and Piano, composed in 1994.

The work is published here for the first time in print, in both full score and separate parts, as part of Hudobné centrum’s Slovak Chamber Music series.
