The book "Husľový virtuóz, skladateľ, prešporský rodák Miska Hauser (1820 – 1887)" was undoubtedly the first musician whose art resonated on all inhabited continents. He concentrated his adventures as a violinist in California, South America, Tahiti, Australia, and Ceylon into letters, which he sent to his brother in Vienna during five years of traveling and performing. Sigmund Hauser published these letters in the "Ostdeutsche Post" magazine, and in 1859, he compiled them into a book. Miska Hauser's letters are, in fact, the first global report on the state of music around the world. The book is complemented by scholarly studies, a map, and a list of works.
