Sinfonia in G Major Pastoritia
back to list
Sinfonia in G Major Pastoritia by Anton Zimmermann is scored for two violins, viola, bass, two clarinos, "cuculo obligato", "tuba pastoralis obligato" and timpani. It is extant in two versions (Kremnica, Slovakia; Keszthely, Hungary), and the Slovak source comes from the library of the Franciscan monastery in Kremnica. Sinfonia in G Major is one of those pioneering works of the second half of the 18th century which contributed to forming the pastorally oriented symphonic work of classicism. The score is edited by Darina Múdra.
