Twenty-Five Little Vocalises was prepared by Božena Gráfová (melodic material and overall concept) and Peter Hochel (harmonisation and compositional-stylistic arrangement) for students of music and drama programmes at conservatoires, as well as for acting and puppetry students at universities. The collection may also prove valuable to students at teacher-training colleges, pupils at both levels of music and arts schools, and anyone wishing to improve their vocal technique.

The vocalises are arranged progressively, from the simplest exercises for complete beginners to technically and musically more demanding pieces. Each vocalise, provided in versions for both lower and higher voices, focuses on a particular technical, musical-rhythmic, or interpretative challenge. The accompanying pedagogical notes briefly explain the specific objective and purpose of each exercise.
