What came initially was an image of a rainbow emerging from a glimmer of sunlight refracting in raindrops, and from burst of memories that gleam intensely in such an instant, rushing in all at once in all their beauty. Life offers moments when we feel deep inner trembling. One such moment appears in the Gospel of John's Raising ofLazarus (John 11:1-45), which tells us of fresh hope, and is a marvellous representation of God's love for man and a joyful sign of His healing power. I dedicate Trembling to my beloved wife Anna. She's my rainbow, shining fresh after every deluge, and the trembling in my heart and my inspiration.
