During his studies Juraj Tomka was a member of The International Youth Symphony Orchestra Bremen (conductor Heinrich Buhlmann), Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra (cond. Herbert Böck) and The European Union Youth Orchestra (cond. Vladimir Ashkenazy).

As a soloist he has repeatedly performed with Symphony Orchestra of Bratislava Conservatory, with Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Performing Arts and Baroque Ensemble of the Academy of Performing Arts.

He is a member of three chamber ensembles. Since 2003 he is primarius of the Mucha Quartet, with which he performed at domestic festivals and concert cycles such as Presentation of Young Composers, Orpheus, Chamber Days of Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Nitra Music Fall, Albrechtina – Unknown Music. The Quartet has won several awards at international competitions. Since 2008 he is a member of Piano Trio Istropolis (festivals: New Slovak Music, Confrontations Nitra, Trenčín Music Fall, Albrechtina – Unknown Music, Music to Trnava and others), and since 2009 he is a primarius of the Slovak Quartet (festivals Space, Clarimania Wroclaw, Felix Mendelssohn Music Days Krakow and others).
